Just call me…

Lexi picked out her clothes to wear to school this morning…a pink long sleeved velour dress, with multi-colored striped tights and her new white and purple Nike tennis shoes.  She says to us, “I am going to wear my pink dress and striped tights and new shoes and you’re going to call me rainbow girl” - can you [...]

colorfull, yet, very not loud,
calm and quiet, it screams peace,
the red leaves on the path
meet the red of the heart,
the white light pierce the fog
gently floating away from the water,
is it nature? still, civilisation is so there,

i know the feeling (about getting permission…) but, chin up! if it is any consolation, i get permission more and more these days (for more things than just doing her hair).

I have been allowed to put pig-tails in Annika’s hair exactly twice. (She’s turning 3 in July, for the record). I have absolutely no idea why I was permitted on those two – and only two – mornings, but it’s a shame because her hair is so damn cute when it’s up! *sigh*

Wow! Her ability to stay in the lines is truly impressive! Is Daddy really less smiley than Mommy, even when he has a happy sun to hang out with?

Wrinkly hair!! heehee!
I remember when Jessi and I were little we would take a bath and then sit on the floor in the living room while my Mom brushed and braided or hair so i would be nice and “wrinkly” the next day.

Beautiful work Lexi:)

The colors of the world

Today when I picked Lexi up from school, the monthly update letter was in her go-home file.  In the lette her teacher, Ms. Cindy, explains what the class has been working on and what they will be learning:  that the class cooked Stone Soup (if you don’t know the story, you can read one version [...]
